Nashville, TN - The Board of Directors of the General Council on Finance and Administration (GCFA) of The United Methodist Church held its last quarterly meeting of 2024 to deliberate on critical financial matters for the denomination. The Board unanimously approved a total of 23 general Church spending plans, which consists of general agencies receiving apportionments, GCFA, and the Episcopal Fund. “The Board unanimously approved all spending plans submitted by our General Agencies and the Council of Bishops. We deeply appreciate the ministry and service these groups provide to the annual conferences, local churches, and indeed throughout the world,” said Rev. Moses Kumar, General Secretary of the General Council on Finance and Administration.
In addition to approving the spending plans, the GCFA Board of Directors endorsed the GCFA's three quadrennial goals for 2025-2028, which center around the priorities of Connectional Giving, Trustworthiness and Transparency, and UMC Support Services. GCFA’s new quadrennial goals may be found here. These comprehensive goals reflect GCFA's commitment to financial stewardship and support for the denomination's ministries.
